
Verizon Communications Inc. reported its fourth-quarter earnings for 2024, surpassing analysts' expectations. The company announced an adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.10, meeting the consensus estimate of $1.09, and total revenue of $35.7 billion, which exceeded the forecasted $35.32 billion. The quarter saw a significant increase in wireless service revenue, reaching $20 billion, up 3.1% year-over-year, driven by price increases and growth in fixed wireless access. Verizon added 568,000 new postpaid phone net additions, surpassing the FactSet estimate of 487,500. The company also reported a net income of $5.1 billion for the quarter, a notable recovery from a $2.6 billion loss in the same period of the previous year. For the full year of 2024, Verizon's total revenue was up 0.6% to $134.8 billion. Looking ahead, Verizon anticipates a 2% to 3.5% increase in adjusted EBITDA for 2025 and expects wireless service revenue to grow by 2% to 2.8%. The company also introduced Verizon AI Connect, a new suite of solutions aimed at enabling businesses to deploy artificial intelligence workloads at scale.
