England kept their five-match women’s Twenty20 International series alive with a tense five-run victory over India in the third game at the Kia Oval in London on 4 July. After choosing to bat, openers Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge powered a 137-run stand, scoring 75 and 66 respectively, before a collapse engineered by Deepti Sharma (3/27) and Arundhati Reddy (3/32) restricted the hosts to 171 for nine. India appeared on course for a first-ever T20I series win over England when Smriti Mandhana (56) and Shafali Verma (47) raced to an 85-run opening partnership. Fast bowler Lauren Filer removed both set batters to slow the chase, and seamer Lauren Bell held her nerve with 12 runs to defend in the final over, dismissing captain Harmanpreet Kaur off the last ball to close India at 166 for five. The result trims India’s lead to 2–1, with the fourth match slated for 9 July in Manchester.
