
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a Europe-wide investigation into the 'JuicyFields' Ponzi scheme, which is accused of defrauding 550,000 people out of €645 million (£550m). The scheme, which promised high returns on investments in medicinal cannabis, led to a massive operation resulting in 9 arrests and searches in 11 countries. Authorities have reported that the scam invited people to invest with the promise of 70-168% returns, depending on the type of plant they invested in, affecting 180,000 'victims' from 35 countries. The operation has unveiled a $686 million fraud, marking a significant crackdown on cannabis scams across Europe.
