
An Austin man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges related to the manufacturing and delivery of controlled substances. The 61-year-old was also fined $10,000 by Williamson County officials. In a separate case, two Indian nationals, Simranjit Singh and Gusimrat Singh, were arrested in Massachusetts with 400 kg of drugs valued at over $10 million. They were reportedly on a cross-country trip to distribute the narcotics. Additionally, leaders of a Texas smuggling ring were sentenced to 20 years in prison for their involvement in a $2.9 million conspiracy, which included smuggling 2,500 migrants into the U.S.
