Deputies and detectives were dispatched to the scene early Thursday morning, Aug. 28, and described the probe as “very active.” Welby Road is closed to traffic between East 86th and 88th avenues while investigators collect evidence. Authorities have not disclosed the victim’s identity, the circumstances of the death or whether any suspects have been identified, and they urged motorists to use alternate routes.
