
Roman Sterlingov, the founder of the cryptocurrency mixing service Bitcoin Fog, has been convicted in a Washington federal court for laundering tens of millions of dollars from darknet markets selling illegal drugs. Sterlingov, a 33-year-old Swedish-Russian national, laundered $336 million through Bitcoin Fog. The mixing service facilitated over $400 million in untraceable transactions. Despite the defense lawyer's claim of no evidence proving Sterlingov operated Bitcoin Fog, a U.S. District Court jury found him guilty of conspiracy and money laundering, facing decades in jail.
