
Several individuals, including an ex-IRS officer and a former Broward deputy, have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in various fraud schemes. The ex-IRS officer and five others were convicted for a COVID-19 fraud scheme. In Arizona, a woman was sentenced to 3.5 years for stealing millions from the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) in a Medicaid fraud scheme. Another woman was sentenced in Arizona for a sober living home fraud case. Additionally, the first Broward deputy to be convicted in a COVID loan fraud case, which involved $31,000, has been sentenced to just over half a year in prison. This deputy was among 17 sheriff’s employees from a Florida county implicated in the scheme.
