The FBI has recovered over 7,000 decryption keys from the LockBit ransomware group and is urging victims to come forward to retrieve their data. This recovery follows a massive joint operation earlier this year that disrupted the gang. The FBI's multi-year investigation into LockBit has resulted in numerous arrests, criminal charges, and the takedown of a website associated with the group. The decryption keys, including 2,500+ keys seized in February 2024, are now being offered to victims for free to help recover data that has been inaccessible for months or even years.
