Monroe County prosecutors have charged the head of public relations for the Florida Keys taxpayer-funded tourism agency with multiple counts of perjury and making false statements. Investigators allege that the individual billed taxpayers for a company that does not exist. In a separate incident, Clearwater police detective Fredrick Lise has been charged with eight felonies for allegedly assisting drug traffickers evade criminal investigations. Additionally, the president of the Clearwater police union has been accused of tipping off alleged drug dealers. These developments raise significant concerns regarding the integrity of law enforcement and public agencies in Florida.
