McCann pleaded guilty shortly before his corruption trial began in February. He misused campaign funds for personal expenses, including mortgage payments, purchasing two pickup trucks, making $100,000 in credit card payments, buying recreational vehicles, and taking a family vacation to Colorado. The sentencing took place in federal court on Tuesday.
