GE Aerospace and American Clinical Solutions have been compromised by ransomware attacks, leading to significant data breaches. GE Aerospace's breach, attributed to the Meow ransomware group, resulted in the exfiltration of an SQL database and 115,000 clients' data. American Clinical Solutions was targeted by the RansomHub ransomware group, resulting in the theft of 700 GB of data, including sensitive information of 500,000 patients, such as social security numbers. In response to these and other cyberattacks on the healthcare sector, the US Department of Health and Human Services' ARPA-H has announced an investment of over $50 million to develop tools that can identify and fix vulnerabilities in hospital software. This initiative aims to bolster hospital cybersecurity and protect sensitive patient information.
