French-American art dealer Guy Wildenstein, patriarch of one of France's most renowned art-dealing dynasties, was convicted of massive tax fraud by a Paris court. The court found that Wildenstein hid a prized art collection and other assets to avoid paying millions in inheritance taxes. This verdict comes after years of legal battles that exposed the secrecy surrounding his powerful family dynasty. The court imposed a €1m fine on Wildenstein and sentenced him to four years in prison, with two years suspended.
