Glenis Zapata, an Indiana beauty pageant winner, has been indicted on trafficking charges linked to a major Mexican drug cartel. Zapata, who also worked as a flight attendant, allegedly used her job to smuggle drug proceeds from the United States to Mexico. The indictment follows a federal investigation into cash smuggling operations, highlighting the role of individuals with privileged access in facilitating drug money laundering. Zapata is facing two counts of money laundering. The arrest also involved one of the federal authorities' most wanted fugitives.
