The brothers posed as repair contractors, targeting vulnerable individuals, including a 73-year-old widow who lost $435,000. The scam spanned multiple states, and the brothers were found guilty of wire fraud. In related cases, a Maryland Department of Labor employee received a year and a half sentence for insurance fraud and theft during her employment, while other fraud cases involving elderly victims have emerged, including attempts to scam a 96-year-old woman out of $10,000.
