
A judge has approved a $418 million settlement in a major real estate case involving allegations of collusion among several top U.S. brokerages to keep agent commissions artificially high. The settlement, which may transform how Americans buy and sell homes, involves companies such as Berkshire Hathaway Energy, eXp, Redfin, Weichert, United Real Estate, Douglas Elliman, and HomeSmart. Additionally, @properties Christie's International Real Estate settled a similar commission case, accused alongside other brokerages and the National Association of Realtors.
