June Squibb, at 94 years old, has become Hollywood's latest action star with her leading role in the new film 'Thelma.' The movie, which tells the story of a grandmother who becomes an action hero after falling prey to a phone scam, has received rave reviews from critics, achieving a 99% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Squibb, known for her roles in 'Nebraska' and other films, performs many of her own stunts in 'Thelma,' drawing inspiration from Tom Cruise. The film also stars Fred Hechinger and features appearances by Parker Posey, Clark Gregg, and Richard Roundtree. 'Thelma' won the Audience Award at the Provincetown Film Festival and is set to release in theaters on June 21. Directed by Josh Margolin and distributed by Magnolia Pictures, the film is based on the filmmaker's actual 103-year-old grandmother. Squibb also performs scooter stunts in the movie.
