In a separate case, suspended Sergeant Kevin Menon is facing charges related to setting up illegal arrests on the Strip and possessing child sex abuse material. Menon was arrested on October 23, and his court appearance is pending. Additionally, a retired police sergeant has indicated plans to plead guilty to charges of attempted theft and oppression, stemming from allegations of stealing from massage parlors while on duty. The LVMPD is also investigating several commercial robberies, including incidents that occurred on September 6 and October 13, with reports indicating that suspects threatened employees with weapons during these crimes.
