A 16-year-old Miami boy, identified by police as Landon Lumpkin, has been arrested on multiple felony charges after allegedly shooting his 13-year-old stepbrother during an argument over clothing at the family’s Wynwood home on Tuesday afternoon. According to an arrest report, the younger teen confronted Lumpkin for wearing his clothes. Lumpkin then pointed a .45-caliber Glock 21—later confirmed to have been reported stolen—at the child “to scare him.” The weapon discharged, striking the 13-year-old in the left shoulder. The victim was taken by his mother to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Miami police recovered the handgun during a court-approved search of the residence and charged Lumpkin with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor, grand theft of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. He was booked into a juvenile detention center while prosecutors determine whether to seek adult charges.
