Federal authorities have intensified their crime crackdown in Washington, D.C., resulting in the arrest of 52 individuals, including members of the MS-13 and 18th Street gangs as well as two convicted kidnappers. Among those detained is an MS-13 gang member with prior convictions for driving while intoxicated and drug possession. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) disclosed the identities of some of the criminal illegal aliens apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as part of this enforcement action. These arrests are part of the Trump administration's broader federal initiative to address crime in the capital. Additionally, ICE captured an illegal immigrant accused of killing a teenage couple, and another migrant faces multiple charges related to a Christmas market attack, including murder and attempted murder.
