The operation also involved the use of a banned insecticide, and nearly a ton of toxic waste was removed from the wilderness area. The discovery has raised concerns about environmental damage and irresponsible activities within the protected national park. Separately, a Colorado state park ranger has been charged after allegedly stabbing himself in an incident described as a hoax attack.
