In a coordinated effort by the NYPD, thirteen malnourished and neglected animals, including 11 starving dogs and 2 malnourished cats, were rescued from deplorable conditions in a Queens home. The operation, led by detectives from the Grand Larceny Squad, also uncovered a stolen German Shepherd, various drugs, stolen equipment, and 'DJ decks'. The homeowner, Cory Elder, aged 43, is under investigation for storing stolen goods and drugs. All rescued animals are currently being evaluated by the ASPCA, and Elder has been charged with animal abuse.
