A man sought in Ohio for the 2020 beating death of a toddler was captured on Wednesday in Framingham, Massachusetts, ending an eight-day nationwide search, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Dioblis Williams, 25, was wanted on a homicide warrant alleging he fatally injured 2-year-old Ja’mir Jones, who was found unconscious in a Columbus bathtub and later ruled to have died from blunt-force abdominal trauma. Acting U.S. Marshal Kevin Neal said the arrest underscores the agency’s reach, adding, “You can run, but you can’t hide.” Framingham police spotted Williams walking downtown around 8:30 a.m., disguised with a wig. He was taken into custody without incident on a fugitive-from-justice charge and will be arraigned in Massachusetts before extradition proceedings begin. The marshals said cooperation among local police in Worcester, Framingham and Columbus, as well as state and federal fugitive task forces, led to the arrest.
