Snowflake, a prominent cloud storage firm, is facing significant scrutiny following a series of data breaches affecting its customers. Major clients such as Ticketmaster, Santander Bank, Advance Auto Parts, and LendingTree have reported data theft, with hackers allegedly stealing millions of records. The breaches are being linked to poor security measures, including the lack of multi-factor authentication (MFA) on customer accounts. Despite Snowflake's denial of a direct breach, the company is urging customers to enhance their security protocols. Mandiant, a cybersecurity firm, revealed that 165 organizations have been notified of potential data exposure. The breaches are part of an ongoing campaign by cybercriminals, including the group UNC5537, which has led to a substantial volume of customer data being compromised. Snowflake is working closely with affected clients to mitigate the impact and strengthen security measures. Notably, the Ticketmaster breach alone reportedly affected 560 million customers.
