In a series of legal actions against public officials in the Chicago area, Waukegan City Clerk Janet Kilkelly faces a 15-count indictment for official misconduct and misapplication of funds related to providing credits to businesses for liquor and gambling licenses. North Chicago Alderman Anthony Coleman, representing the city’s 2nd Ward, is charged with felony misconduct and felony criminal damage to government-supported property. The charges were filed by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. Amidst these allegations, Waukegan Mayor Ann Taylor has not called for Kilkelly's resignation.
