Concerns have been raised about Phantom, a cryptocurrency wallet extension, allegedly tracking users' wallets and selling the data to teams. Tweets from users claim that Phantom tracks wallets when a key is imported to the extension and sells this information, identifying it as belonging to a single user. However, there are conflicting statements regarding the truth behind these allegations. Phantom has publicly stated that they do not share or sell user data. Additionally, a statement from a user associated with DRiP indicates that Phantom has never sold data to them nor shared any wallet information privately. The situation is further complicated by the fact that Phantom is closed-source, raising questions about the transparency of its operations and the potential risks to users.
FYI Phantom has never sold data to DRiP nor privately shared any data about wallets with DRiP. I have asked them many times whether they would consider offering a Sybil product since it would be of enormous benefit to products like ours. But to date they’ve said no. https://t.co/ZW5E0Hj1al

just heard @phantom is tracking wallets internally and selling it to teams ie if you import a key to the extension they track the public key and sell the bundle of pubkeys as “this is one person” never use phantom period
