Base has officially kicked off its Onchain Summer Buildathon, a comprehensive event aimed at developers, designers, artists, and creators from Asia and Africa. The event, which started with an opening ceremony on May 31, features eight tracks with a total of 200 ETH in prizes. Participants can compete for various bounties, including $51,000 in community bounties and specific prizes such as $5,000 for onchain video innovations using Livepeer and Base. Additional support comes from partners like Privy, Airstack, Dynamic, XMTP, Biconomy, LitProtocol, Superfluid, and Livepeer. The event also includes retroactive prizes worth over $10,000 and special bounties for integrating Base with Unlock Protocol. The Onchain Summercamp, in collaboration with FoundershipHQ, offers further opportunities. Additionally, a merch shop powered by Slice and LuminodeLabs and tacos are part of the event. Applications for the Buildathon will be accepted until June 30.
