On Tuesday, Celestia introduced Blobstream, a solution aimed at decentralizing and securing Base Layer 3s, now live on Arbitrum One. This development, supported by builders from @CelestiaOrg, @Base, and @SuccinctLabs, allows developers to deploy Orbit chains with Celestia, marking the first modular Data Availability (DA) integration with fully-working Nitro fraud proofs. The deployment of Blobstream is significant for the Ethereum rollup landscape as it pioneers Data Availability Sampling (DAS), a technology that democratizes access to data. The integration is expected to make Arbitrum chains significantly cheaper, with the introduction of Rust smart contracts through the Stylus activation proposal and reduced DA costs, offering cheaper costs even compared to 4844.

Arbitrum chains are about to get magnitudes cheaper with two huge announcements today: 1) Stylus activation proposal. We'll see Rust smart contracts with cheaper costs very soon. 2) @CelestiaOrg blobstream integration, meaning much cheaper DA costs (even compared to 4844). https://t.co/jGWz5DnSHQ
Glad to support Blobstream on @arbitrum One, with @celestiaorg underneath. Build whatever. 🎇 https://t.co/l1ln2HSbiJ
Blobstream is now live on Arbitrum One, enabling Orbit chains with Celestia underneath ✨🪐 This marks the first modular DA integration with fully-working fraud proofs. Build whatever with an Orbit testnet today💙 https://t.co/oxT2OESMd0
