Circle is set to officially launch the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) on the Solana mainnet on March 26, marking a significant development in blockchain interoperability. This initiative will enable the frictionless flow of $USDC stablecoins across various networks, including Ethereum and Solana, without the need for centralized exchanges or token wrapping. The launch is anticipated to revolutionize on-chain payroll, enhance Solana Pay, and significantly improve liquidity and user experience. Ahead of the CCTP launch, Circle has introduced a new pre-mint address to facilitate the minting of $USDC on Solana. The technology is expected to pave the way for seamless cross-chain value transfers, comparing favorably with other interoperability solutions like Wormhole. Additionally, the upcoming Skip API will further expand the ecosystem by allowing users to transfer native $USDC between any EVM and Solana chain to any Cosmos chain with one click and no slippage. EVM <> SVM borrowing and lending is also on the horizon, promising further enhancements to the Solana ecosystem.
In a few weeks, Skip API will allow users to bring native USDC from any EVM chain and Solana to any Cosmos chain in 1 click with no slippage Cosmos is not ready for this
Cross-Chain value transfer basics In the world of blockchain interoperability, both @circle 's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) and @wormholecrypto are prominent solutions, but they have some key differences. Circle's CCTP is a protocol that enables the seamless transfer…
