dYdX has successfully upgraded its chain to version 5.0, integrating Slinky by Skip Protocol. This upgrade introduces several significant features, including the ability to update prices with less than one-second refresh, the introduction of over 5,000 new isolated markets, and the foundation for permissionless market creation. Additionally, dYdX v5.0 is the first live deployment of vote extensions, a notable achievement by Mark Baricevic, Binary, and Informal Inc. The upgrade also marks dYdX as the first chain with programmable consensus, enabling token restaking for unlimited functionality. Block production on the network is reported to be healthy, with updates to the front end expected soon.
