The cryptocurrency token $SSS, associated with the game Super Samurai Sushi on the Blast L2 platform, suffered a significant exploit due to a contract bug, leading to a drastic price drop of more than 99.9%. An individual investor lost $115k (32.8 ETH) purchasing $SSS just before the exploit was revealed. The exploit involved an infinite mint issue, allowing attackers to double their token amount by transferring $SSS to themselves multiple times, effectively draining the liquidity pool. The attacker's addresses were identified as 0xded85d83bf06069c0bd5aa792234b5015d5410a9 and 0x6a89a8c67b5066d59bf4d81d59f70c3976facd0a. Thruster confirmed the issue, marking it as the first major exploit on the Base platform. The contract had been audited by Verichains, a leading blockchain security firm, which failed to identify the infinite mint exploit. The exploit led to a loss of $4M and increased the exploiter's supply by 3200%, rendering the token's value nearly worthless.
