Fairgoers at the 2025 Iowa State Fair selected the bacon chicken ranch egg roll from Winn & Sara’s Kitchen as the event’s Best New Food, the fair’s organizers announced on 15 August. The $15 egg roll, filled with chicken, bacon and white-cheddar cheese and drizzled with homemade ranch dressing, captured 44.7 % of the 10,711 ballots cast. It is the second straight year that the Indianola- and Norwalk-based vendor has taken the top prize, making it the first to win the contest consecutively. Over the Top’s Scotcheroo Shake finished second with 32.3 % of the vote, while Whatcha Smokin’ BBQ’s Three Little Pigs ham-ball trio placed third with 23 %. Separate contests named JR’s SouthPork Ranch’s Pink Pony Cooler the best new alcoholic drink and Jada Concessions’ watermelon lemonade the best non-alcoholic beverage.
