Botanix Labs, the developers behind the Spiderchain network, has become the first Bitcoin Layer 2 to join Chainlink’s Scale program. This collaboration marks Chainlink’s expansion into the Bitcoin ecosystem, integrating its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Data Feeds into Spiderchain, an EVM-equivalent Bitcoin Layer 2 network. The partnership aims to enhance Bitcoin’s functionality by bringing Chainlink’s oracle services to the network, thereby unlocking new potential for decentralized finance (DeFi) on Bitcoin. The integration is expected to provide seamless cross-chain interoperability and access to Chainlink’s robust data infrastructure. JamieCrawleyCD reported that this move enhances Bitcoin’s functionality.
