Circle has launched the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol version 2 (CCTP V2) on the Polygon Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network, enabling fast, capital-efficient, and composable native USDC transfers across chains without the need for wrapped assets or third-party bridges. The protocol offers benefits such as near-instant settlement, smart contract integration for post-transfer actions, and a 1:1 burn-and-mint mechanism that eliminates the need for liquidity pools. Following this, Circle has also deployed native USDC and CCTP V2 on the Sei Network, a fast and cost-efficient Layer 1 blockchain, further expanding the stablecoin's reach. Circle is a lead investor in Sei, which focuses on decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world assets (RWA), and the integration is expected to simplify user access and promote compliant applications. Additionally, some DeFi strategies using USDC and synthetic USDC (sUSDC) on platforms like Euler and Spark are reportedly generating annual percentage yields (APYs) of 25-35%, leveraging cross-chain bridges such as CCTP to facilitate liquidity and transfers.
🚜🚜 This is getting around 25% stablecoin APY, with one of the lowest risks in DeFi, and almost fully liquid. Strategy: Asset: USDC and sUSDC APY: 25-35% Chain: unichain Protocol: Euler + Spark Bridge: use cctp[.]to USDC from almost any chain to any chain, or bungee Duration: https://t.co/SFeJ8Jabsm
