Corn Network, a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol focused on Bitcoin, has launched its mainnet on the Arbitrum Orbit chain. The launch, dubbed the 'Seeding' phase, introduces the Bitcoin Clearing House for tokenized $BTCN, which serves as gas for transactions within the network. Corn Network aims to redefine Bitcoin's role in DeFi by integrating Edge Price Oracles, which provide context-aware price data to enhance the network's resilience and operational efficiency. The launch is supported by several key players in the blockchain ecosystem, including Conduit, LayerZero, The Graph, and Arbitrum, indicating a collaborative effort to expand Bitcoin's utility in DeFi. The network's ecosystem includes seamless bridging from Bitcoin and novel incentive mechanisms, marking a significant step in the evolution of Bitcoin-based DeFi applications.
