The Mitosis Foundation has detailed the economics of its forthcoming MITO utility token and opened a series of distribution programmes ahead of a planned token-generation event. The foundation said the token will have a fixed supply of one billion, with 10% reserved for a Genesis Airdrop that began on 20 August and runs until 10 September. Recipients can either claim their allocation immediately or lock it for 180 days in exchange for a 2.5-times redemption bonus. To broaden outreach, Mitosis has joined with Binance Wallet on an exclusive ‘Booster’ staking campaign that is offering 15 million MITO—1.5% of total supply—as rewards. The first phase of the promotion, which lets users deposit BNB or USDT to earn yields in MITO, runs from 19 August to 26 August (UTC+8). Under the published tokenomics, 45.5% of MITO is earmarked for ecosystem incentives, 15% for the project team, 8.8% for investors and the balance for the foundation, builder grants, marketing and initial liquidity. Staked MITO produces non-transferable governance tokens (gMITO), while time-locked LMITO is distributed through reward campaigns such as the Kaito AI points programme. Mitosis operates a Layer-1 blockchain focused on ‘programmable liquidity’, allowing users to tokenise vault deposits and deploy them across decentralised-finance applications. The network’s mainnet is reported to be 95% complete, and the foundation said recent reward schemes are intended to align early users, builders and validators ahead of the launch.
