RWA Tokenization Market Surpasses $23 Billion with $3.5B Q2 Growth, Chainlink-JPMorgan Cross-Chain Settlement, and 250% Six-Month Rise

The real-world asset (RWA) tokenization market has experienced rapid growth in 2025, with the market capitalization surpassing $23 billion following a record $3.5 billion increase in the second quarter alone. This expansion is driven primarily by tokenized U.S. Treasury debt, private credit, and gold, excluding stablecoins. Key financial institutions and platforms such as Chainlink, JPMorgan, Ondo Finance, Plume Network, FTDA, Centrifuge, WisdomTree Prime, and Tether Gold are actively involved in this sector. Notably, Chainlink, JPMorgan, and Ondo Finance recently completed the first cross-chain settlement between permissioned and public networks, marking a milestone in RWA development. Over the past six months, the RWA market cap has risen by 250%, while stablecoin market capitalization increased by 22.4%. In contrast, the total cryptocurrency market cap and decentralized finance (DeFi) total value locked have declined by 4% and 6%, respectively. The growth is attributed to increasing regulatory clarity and strong institutional interest, with monthly on-chain issuance of RWAs consistently exceeding $100 million. The next growth frontier for RWAs is expected to be in Europe and Asia, supported by on-chain access advancements.
