Starknet, an Ethereum layer-2 solution, has announced plans to become the first layer-2 network to facilitate transactions on both Bitcoin and Ethereum. This initiative aims to enhance the interoperability and scalability of Bitcoin, allowing users to access decentralized finance (DeFi) services directly on the Bitcoin network. Starknet's features include increased transactions per second (TPS), two-second block times, and low gas fees of $0.002. The integration will be supported by Xverse, a Bitcoin wallet that is expanding its services to Starknet, enabling cross-chain swaps between Bitcoin and Starknet assets. Additionally, users will be able to utilize the Lightning Network for transactions, allowing payments with STRK at Lightning-enabled vendors. Starknet's strategic plan includes establishing a Bitcoin reserve fund to further unify the two largest blockchains, thereby enhancing their functionalities and maintaining decentralization principles.
Users can now pay with $STRK @Starknet at any Lightning-enabled vendor via @myBraavos—seamlessly converting to BTC on the fly. Powered by @Atomiqlabs. As Bitcoin gains momentum as a reserve asset & regulatory clarity improves, could this push BTC further into daily commerce?…
A fully onchain order book DEX is now live on Starknet! Chart feature embedded into the app, market and limit orders available; trade spot with a CEX-like UX while staying self-custodial. Welcome to the pack @RemusDEX! https://t.co/16CnVMV1b4
Imagine you can just sign a transaction with your @XverseApp wallet and redeem USDC on any chain borrowing against your Bitcoin. Would that be interesting to you anon? What if you even got paid to borrow anon?
