Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas, chairman of Grupo Salinas and one of Latin America’s most prominent Bitcoin advocates, has urged homeowners to liquidate their property holdings and convert the proceeds into Bitcoin. Speaking on Robert Breedlove’s “What is Money?” podcast released 4 July, Salinas argued that real estate cannot match the cryptocurrency’s fixed supply and portability, saying, “You can always make more houses. Bitcoin, you can’t make any more.” Salinas framed the advice as a hedge against what he predicts will be a collapse of government-issued currencies, which he described as “fraud” sustained by inflationary policies. Drawing on Mexico’s 1980s hyperinflation, he claimed fiat systems enable governments to confiscate wealth and said Bitcoin and gold remain the only viable stores of value. His comments continue a series of public statements warning that central-bank money creation threatens savers worldwide.
