Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, has articulated a vision for the transformative potential of tokenization in equity markets. He suggests that tokenization will redefine market access, particularly benefiting smaller firms that currently face barriers to going public. Horsley emphasizes that the focus should not only be on democratizing investment access but also on unlocking capital for these smaller players. He predicts that advancements in artificial intelligence will drive micro-companies to adopt tokenization, creating new niche markets. Furthermore, he estimates that tokenization could unlock a market worth $200 billion, significantly lowering the costs for businesses seeking to raise capital. Currently, only 4,600 U.S. companies have access to public equity markets, highlighting the need for a shift in how funding is approached in the coming years.
