The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has proposed a rule to remove medical debt from credit reports and credit determinations. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden of medical debt for over 100 million Americans and enhance their access to credit, housing, and healthcare. The proposal, announced on June 18, is expected to create a more equitable economy by ensuring that medical debt does not impact credit scores. CFPB Director Rohit Chopra will discuss the details of this initiative on Ali Velshi's show on Sunday at 11:40am ET.
