CNA Financial Reports Q2 Earnings: 12% YoY Net Income Increase, EPS $1.19, Revenue $3.52B

CNA Financial has reported its Q2 FY24 earnings, showing a net income of $317 million, or $1.17 per share, which represents a 12% year-over-year increase. Core income rose by 6% to $326 million compared to $308 million in the prior year quarter, and for the first half of the year, core income increased by 8% to a record $681 million. Property and casualty (P&C) core income was $380 million versus $374 million in the previous year. Despite these gains, revenue of $3.52 billion, up 6.51% year-over-year, missed estimates by $31 million, and EPS of $1.19, up 5.31% year-over-year, missed by $0.04. The book value per share excluding AOCI increased to $45.86. CNA Financial's stock rose by 4.6% pre-market following the Q2 earnings snapshot.
