
Container freight futures experienced a slight decline over the Christmas period, with trading showing a decrease of around 1% as of December 27, 2024. The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) reported a weekly increase of 2.9%, reaching a value of 2,460.34. European shipping markets reopened, reflecting strong performance following a positive trend in the U.S. earlier in the week. Tankers rose between 3% and 6%, while dry bulk and container shipping saw increases of 2% to 5%. In pre-market trading, BWLP was the top gainer, up over 2% on a volume of 12,000 shares, while HSHP also rose by 2.3% but with lower volume. However, HAFN faced a decline of 1.5% despite having the highest shipping volume at 80,000 shares.
