A U.S. judge has refused to dismiss a lawsuit against the defunct Philadelphia-based law firm Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis. The lawsuit, filed by former partner Jo Bennett, accuses the firm of unlawfully using pension contributions to help run the firm before it shuttered last year after nearly 90 years in business. The judge found that the lawsuit plausibly alleged violations of the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and can move forward. Schnader Harrison had sought to dismiss the ERISA suit over handling of retirement money but was unsuccessful.
