Denver has submitted a comment to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in support of rescheduling cannabis, emphasizing its importance for the local industry and calling it 'essential'. A study of Ohio medical cannabis patients revealed that over 75% reported a reduction in the need for prescription painkillers, such as opioids, due to marijuana use. Another study reported improvements in anxiety and depression following cannabis use. The Cannabis Regulators Association has called for additional guidance on how rescheduling will impact enforcement, banking, research, and other issues. Nearly 35,000 comments have been submitted so far, with three days remaining in the comment period. AdvisorShares is urging public participation in supporting the rescheduling of cannabis before the deadline.
