The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is implementing a new plan to regulate PFAS in fluorinated plastic containers following a loss at the Fifth Circuit. This approach involves traditional Toxic Substances Control Act Section 6 rulemaking. On July 18, the EPA released new guidance on PFAS destruction and disposal. On July 19, the EPA added various PFAS compounds to its monitoring and advisory programs, particularly concerning fish and shellfish. On July 20, the EPA released draft risk evaluations and hazard assessments for 1,1-Dichloroethane and 1,2-Dichloroethane for public comment and peer review.
