
Express Scripts, one of the largest pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in the country, overcharged U.S. Postal Service employees by $45 million for their prescription drugs, according to a recent federal audit. The overcharging occurred during a five-year period. The audit, conducted by the Office of Inspector General (OIG), highlights issues with PBM rebate and spread pricing practices, which have been under scrutiny.
