Japan's Nikkei Stock Average experienced significant drops, sinking more than 800, 700, and 900 points on Thursday morning, reaching a one-month low amid concerns over Wall Street losses, higher yields, and interest rate hikes. The 10-year JGB yield rose to a 13-year high, with the index down over 2% at one point. The U.S. stock indexes also saw declines, with the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and NASDAQ closing lower on Thursday.
