[METAPLANET] #Metaplanet Secures ¥1 Billion Loan to Expand #Bitcoin Holdings

Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has announced plans to raise ¥10.08 billion (approximately $70 million) through a Gratis Allotment of Stock Acquisition Rights to fund additional purchases of Bitcoin. The firm, often compared to MicroStrategy for its aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategy, aims to bolster its cryptocurrency holdings as a hedge against currency depreciation. Additionally, Metaplanet has secured a ¥1 billion ($6.8 million) loan from shareholder MMXX Ventures at an interest rate of 0.1% per annum, with a six-month term starting on August 8, to further increase its Bitcoin reserves. This move underscores the growing institutional interest in cryptocurrency investments. Metaplanet announced the allocation of 8.5 billion yen ($58.8 million) to increase its Bitcoin reserves.
