
Money managers have adjusted their positions in both Brent and WTI crude oil futures and options for the week ending October 1. Net-length in Brent crude oil futures and options increased by 41,782 contracts to 21,461, with long-only positions rising by 14,575 and short-only positions falling by 5,438, according to ICE. Conversely, net-length in WTI crude oil futures and options decreased by 20,688 contracts to 141,240, with long-only positions falling by 6,586 and short-only positions rising by 14,102, as reported by CFTC. Brent crude futures settled at $78.05 per barrel, an increase of 43 cents or 0.55%. WTI futures price rose $6.20 (9%) from $68.18 to $71.38 for the week ending October 4.
