Novo Nordisk has filed nine separate lawsuits against compounding pharmacies, weight-loss clinics, medical spas, and other outlets for selling knockoff versions of semaglutide. Some of these lawsuits include complaints of trademark infringement related to the use of Wegovy and Ozempic marks. Nearly half of the cases were filed in Florida. Attorneys from several firms, including Bowman and Brooke, Covington & Burling, and Wicker Smith, are representing Novo Nordisk. Despite uncertainty over a potential MDL reassignment, lawyers are continuing with the Ozempic litigation.
